The Icelandic Equestrian Associations (LH) and HorseDay have entered into an agreement to develop the "Tournament" functionality within the HorseDay app and is therefore intended to replace the app LH Kappi, with the aim of significantly improving the appearance and technical functionality. The application will allow users to monitor tournaments and/or horses so that the person will receive notifications when new results are received.

LH Kappi has proven itself useful for equestrians and tournament organizers, but it was time for an update to the program. HorseDay has been growing rapidly since its launch in 2020 and aims to improve access to information on competition results.

With this, the contracting parties hope to increase interest in the Icelandic horse sport and improve its image as a whole. The program will display the results of all competitions entered into Sportfengur. For each specific tournament, the user should be able to view the tournament’s schedule, starting list, information about competitors (horses and riders) as well as results (scores) as soon as they have been confirmed by the judges.

HorseDay CEO, Oddur Ólafsson, says this is an extremely exciting project: "We are excited to create a user interface that displays and brings this data together. We are taking data from WorldFengur and building horses’ profiles from that, connecting training data recorded in HorseDay and finally we are taking data from SportFengur. If the horse's owner and trainer are interested, they can share the horse's entire training history with users. This will improve the flow of information and give the user a better overview than has been the case so far."

The application will allow users to monitor tournaments and/or horses so that the person will receive notifications when new results are received. The basic functionality of the app that replaces LH Kappi will be free for users for now, but with a subscription you can gain access to additional features. The aim is to have the application's extension fully functional by February 2024. The HorseDay app also allows the user to monitor, store and access all information regarding their horse's training, shoeing and medical history in one place. Then you can follow other horses and riders and their training.
